The district also shared a recent letter from Thurston County Health Officer Dr. Dimyana Abdelmalek, MD, MPH. in which she recommends -- based on current case rates and Dept. of Health Metrics for K-12 education -- “schools take a cautious phased-in approach to in-person learning for high school students, after middle school students have returned.”
Plans for students in grades 7-12 are still being evaluated, and the district pledged to communicate about them as soon as they are available.
Testing for COVID-19
Tomorrow the district plans to announce "local and free COVID-19 testing site for NTPS students and staff who experience positive COVID-19 symptoms."
