The Thurston County Auditor's Office Elections Division is offering observer training ahead of the Nov. 4 General Election.
The training is going to be held via Zoom at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16.
"Ballot processing is monitored (on-site) by trained observers appointed by the Republican and Democratic parties and independent observers," the auditor's office said in announcing the training session.
"We are committed to ensuring ballot processing is open and transparent. Observers can ask questions of full-time elections staff as long as it doesn’t inhibit ballot processing."

"Observer training covers election procedure and observer policy. Training is mandatory for observers appointed by their political party. However, the training is also open to the public," the auditor's office said.
Individuals with disabilities requiring special accommodation should contact Tillie Naputi-Pullar, 360.786.5408 or Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing: 711 Washington Relay
