Oly Downtown Butt Pickup

Join Surfrider Olympia for a downtown Oly butt pickup. You will spend just an hour picking up toxic cigarette butts before they get washed into the Puget Sound!

Cigarette butts are the # 1 item found on beach cleanups around the world. Their plastic fiber filters are toxic to the environment and marine animals. Storm drains in downtown Oly all lead to the bay; residents must stop them from entering the water!

Volunteers will pick up cig butts for an hour. They will have a counter, picker, and bucket. At the end of the hour, people will meet back and get a count and weight. There will also be a few prizes to celebrate, and taking a group pic.
