"Olympia: A True Story" with Tom Dyer and The True Olympians

Join us for a musical evening with Tom Dyer and The True Olympians, who will tell the convoluted tale of the making of their new album, "Olympia: A True Story," a 40-song history album of the greater Olympia area, which was conceived and produced during the pandemic over the last 3 years. It was no small task! Members of The True Olympians will join Tom in playing several songs will be played in some fashion or other.

The album is a 3-CD box set with an 80-page book and includes over 80 guest Olympia musicians: Oly Mountain Boys, Calvin Johnson (K-Records), fiddle virtuoso Lisa Ornstein, multi-instrumentalist Amy Denio, Arrington de Dionyso (Old Time Relijun), Dave Harvey (Nudity), Steve Luceno's Nu Oly Jazz Band, Danny Kelly (The Hinges), accordionist Luz Gaxiola, percussionist Julie Bennet, Bob Hart (No Toy Boys), synthesist Peter Randlette, the Artesian Rumble Arkestra, members of the Olympia & Tacoma Symphony Orchestras, the Olympia High School Symphonic Choir and of course, Jim of Seattle.

Copies of the album will be available for purchase and signing at the end of the evening. This program will occur after Library open hours and no other Library services will be available.
