The Olympia Arts & Heritage Alliance Museum will host a grand opening on Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will come after a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, June 27, at 3:30 p.m.
The museum is dedicated to the intersection of arts, culture, and history in the City of Olympia.
Opening exhibits include Button Blankets from the Squaxin Island Tribe, an exhibit of new works by local artists, numerous historical exhibits, and a detailed scale model of a historic tugboat.
“Olympia has long been known for our history, creativity, and diversity,” said Tom Henderson, President of the Olympia Arts & Heritage Alliance, in a statement.
“This museum honors that legacy while offering a space for the community to come together, share new ideas, and celebrate the creative energy that defines our city.”
The museum is located at 203 Columbia St. NW in Olympia. It will be open Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
