A 32-year-old man was arrested for the alleged rape of a woman at his residence in Olympia.
An Olympia Police Department report states the incident happened in the 2100 block of Jackson Avenue NW on Sept. 4.
Officers were dispatched around 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 4 after the victim called 911 to report an alleged rape and assault. The victim also said a man was preventing her from leaving the residence.
When responding officers arrived, they encountered a man in the driveway wearing only black underwear.
The man, later identified by police as Blaine Tanner Perius, attempted to run when he saw police approaching, but surrendered after a short pursuit. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Inside the residence, officers reported finding a woman locked in a bathroom. She was transported to MultiCare Capital Medical Center in Olympia for medical care. Police also observed narcotics, scales, baggies and multiple firearms inside the residence.
Authorities said they located the suspect’s wallet, keys, and suspected drugs outside the residence. A search of the suspect’s Subaru Forester revealed additional suspected narcotics, firearms parts and other items.
After a search warrant was obtained, officers searched the suspect’s residence and the vehicle. Officers reported recovering multiple firearms, ammunition, cash, narcotics and recording devices.
“In the residence 19 long guns were discovered along with 7 unassembled lower receivers, 6 pistols were discovered in the safe inside the closet as well. A large number of rounds of ammunition were also found inside the residence," a responding officer stated in the report.
"Multiple narcotics were found in the safe of the master bedroom and large amounts of cash were found in a blue bag next to it, cameras in the primary suite were found, large amounts of cash."
During an interview with the victim at the medical center, the woman stated she thought the suspect was a friend and went to his apartment with other people.
Perius was booked into the Thurston County Corrections Facility. He is facing charges of second-degree rape, possession of narcotics with intent to deliver, and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Porter: You're right. But the authorities can and do add additional charges after the perp is arrested and before reaching the courts.
