An 18-year-old male is now facing second-degree assault charges after allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old female teen.

The girl’s mother reported the incident to the Olympia Police Department (OPD) the day after the incident, which took place on the night of November 10 at the Mortuary Music Venue at in downtown Olympia.

According to the victim's statement to OPD officers, the incident began when the suspect intentionally bumped into her while she was dancing with a female friend.

“He (the suspect) followed me across the dance floor and again slammed his body against me, this time knocking me down to the ground,” the victim stated.

The girl reported that she suggested to the victim that they step outside to talk, where the suspect’s female friend joined them, whom the suspect claimed the victim bullied the previous year in school.

The suspect and his female friend proposed going to an alleyway, which the victim refused, instead walking back to the venue.

The pair allegedly followed the girl, “shoulder checking her,” eventually leading to the two girls fighting, with the friend grabbing the victim’s hair and the victim retaliating.

According to the victim, the fight ended promptly because “She wasn’t going to fight a pussy."

After the suspect separated the two girls, the victim reported that she told the suspect that “it must be embarrassing to date someone who doesn`t know how to fight,” as the police report put it.

The male retaliated with a head butt to the victim, escalating into a full-scale brawl with several people fighting and the girl being rushed to the hospital with a bleeding nose, later revealed to be broken, and a concussion.

The victim identified the pair who attacked her but did not want to press charges against the girl, saying that their fight was “mutual combat,” but wanted to pursue charges against the suspect.

Police also reported that the victim received a text from the girl seeking reconciliation.

Authorities contacted the female, who declined to issue a statement until speaking with a lawyer.

Law enforcement visited the suspect's residence on November 15, where he reportedly declined to provide a statement, citing consultation with legal representation.

The suspect was then arrested and transported to Thurston County Jail, where he was booked on charges of second-degree assault.
