Patricia Angela Henslee, better known as Pam to those that were close, was born on Dec. 22, 1941, to Angela and Frederick Marshall in Port Huron Michigan. The youngest of four children, she was raised in the Tacoma area and attended St. Leo’s Catholic School.

She met Gary Henslee and in September of 1962, the couple got married. Later, they adopted two children, Michael in 1971 and Julie in 1973. The family moved to Yelm in 1977 and began a small farm.

She canned the fresh vegetables grown on the farm in their garden, made some of the best jelly and homemade syrup around, and was a positive force for her children. She spent many nights volunteering with the Booster Club through Yelm High School, running concession stands while her children participated in athletics. Through her church and her time volunteering Pam made many lasting friendships.

After Pam retired from “The Bread Store,” where she had worked for more than 20 years, Gary and Pam traveled and found a second home and family in Yuma, Arizona, where they would spend their winters together in their 5th wheel, surrounded by the many great friends they met there and with an occasional visit from family as well.

The lord and her husband Gary called her to be their valentine on Feb. 14, 2026. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Pam was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Alan and Gerald, sister Jacquelyn, and her husband Gary. She is survived by her son, Michael Henslee and his wife Rebekah, her daughter Julie Shipe and Julie’s sons, Nathan Shipe and Steven Henslee, as well as the many friends whose lives she touched in a way only she could. She will be missed by all and remembered forever for her positive outlook no matter what life threw at her and her smile through all times good and bad.

Funeral services will be held at St. Columban’s Church in Yelm, Washington, at a date to be determined.
