Pavement preservation on Harrison Avenue, Olympic Way in Olympia until Friday

Posted

Road construction in two places in west Olympia are happening this week.

The locations are:

  • Harrison Avenue from Cooper Point Road to Division Street
  • Olympic Way from Harrison Avenue to the 4th/5th Avenue roundabout in Olympia will have traffic disturbances. Olympic Way runs only between the two roundabouts southeast of the end of Harrison Avenue.

Olympia announced in a press release that city contractors are currently removing and replacing damaged asphalt sections in preparation for the chip and fog seal applications at both locations, expected to be done on Friday, August 18.

“Travelers can expect lane restrictions and traffic delays,” the city said.

Funded by the Federal Highway Administration, similar street preservation activities will be done on various parts of the city as part of the Westside Pavement Preservation project, to be done throughout August and expected to be completed by late September.
