We would really appreciate The JOLT posting the complete police blotter, not just the Thurston County Sheriff's. Is there a reason why you stopped reporting Lacey, Tumwater, and Yelm? We are starting to turn to other sources for that information. We would also appreciate a response or notice if there is a reason that you temporarily stop reporting a jurisdiction's blotter. Thank you.

I fully agree with RobMendel. In fact I've written the Jolt about this issue and am waiting to hear back from you. I truly miss the police blotter coverage for Lacey, Tumwater, Yelm and Olympia. I do not know what other sources are available for this information.

Limited crime reporting significantly degrades public safety transparency

by creating a "dark figure" of crime, where the true extent of criminal activity remains hidden from the public and policymakers. When departments fail to submit data or restrict access, they generate a false sense of progress, obscuring crime trends while simultaneously undermining community trust and the accountability mechanisms essential for effective policing.
