The Lacey Police Department is seeking a man believed to have stolen a car and the credit cards inside it.

A silver 2016 Ford Focus with Washington license plate #CGC3518 was stolen in south Lacey on February 2, police said in a media release.

The owner’s credit cards were in the car at the time, which were used shortly after the theft, according to police, and were used again the following morning.

In the days after the theft, a man was seen inside the vehicle at various locations. Photos show him wearing a black beanie and black jacket over a green top.

On February 6, a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, noting that the man inside matched the person in the images.

Lacey police asked those with information about the incident to contact them at 360-459-4333, or CrimeStoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).

According to the story, "... a Thurston County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the vehicle ...". Apparently, the deputy couldn't, perhaps because of the stupid law that doesn't allow a pursuit.
