Rain likely over next two days in Thurston County

A string of sun-splashed days with daytime highs in the mid-50s is about to give way to weather more reminiscent of the final weeks of winter in Thurston County.

The National Weather Service Office in Seattle forecast calls for a 100 percent chance of precipitation on Tuesday, March 3, with new rainfall amounts of less than one-tenth of an inch possible. The daytime high should be near 53 degrees with a southwest wind of 6 to 10 miles per hour (mph).

The rain should pick up on Tuesday evening with new precipitation amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible. The overnight low should be around 44 degrees with a south wind of 8 mph.

There is also a 100 percent chance of precipitation on Wednesday, March 4, with new rainfall amounts between one-tenth and one-quarter of an inch possible. The daytime high should be near 53 degrees with a southwest wind of 6 to 10 mph.

The overnight low should be around 40 degrees. Less than one-tenth of an inch of new rainfall is possible.

Rain is also in the forecast through the remainder of the week with daytime highs running from 49 to 53 degrees, and overnight lows in the low to mid-40s. Forecasts are subject to change.
