A man accused of robbing a Lacey coffee stand at gunpoint is facing an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility, after Thurston County Corrections Officers reported finding a baggie of heroin in his cell.
Sonny A. Ramirez-Wells, 24, is being held in the Thurston County Jail on $500,000 for two separate, ongoing robbery cases. During a court hearing this afternoon, an additional $5,000 was included on his bail for the alleged drug offense.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on March 5 — the day after he was booked into the Thurston County Jail for first-degree robbery — Ramirez-Wells was found lying in his cell, with vomit on the floor. He told a corrections officer he was “coming down” from heroin use. On the floor of the cell, a corrections deputy reported finding a small baggie.
Corrections deputies reported finding heroin inside the bag.
Ramirez-Wells declined to speak with any authorities about the drugs, according to court documents.
Ramirez-Wells and his brother, Raymond Wells, 23, are being held in jail for allegedly robbing a Lacey drive-through coffee stand in January.
