March is right around the corner, and the Stream Team is anticipating some nicer weather to get out and greet the oncoming spring season.
This will kick off the first set of activities this year at Sapp Road Park. In February, they have diverted to a remote site to harvest willow steaks and help clean up a degraded stream system to help prevent some minor flooding issues. Volunteers made a huge impact on the functions of that stream.
"Now, we’re diving into the next project: removing Yellow Flag Iris from Percival Creek. This means getting in the water and getting your hands wet, but don’t worry - the submerged plants come out easily! If you’d rather stay dry, we also need help removing weed barrier under the east side tree canopy. Join us on Saturday, March 8," Stream Team wrote.
