Second Saturday Restoration event at Sapp Road Park

Posted

The City of Tumwater is hosting a "Second Saturday Restoration Event" at Sapp Road Park, located at 2352 Sapp Rd SW, Tumwater, WA 98512. This will be an ongoing event occurring monthly. Come join us to help restore this 11.7-acre wetland and riparian corridor along Percival Creek. This City park plays a large role in the overall health of Percival Creek and ultimately Budd Inlet. Restoration efforts are aimed at reintroducing beavers, restoring wetland functions, improving the riparian corridor, and expanding habitat for fish, amphibians, birds, and native plants. This park also lends itself to creating a place for community members and like-minded practitioners to learn about restoration and water resource management. If you've been looking for an event series to help, get involved with that occurs regularly, allow for hands-on science, and a host of learning opportunities, this is your opportunity to engage, meet new people and most of all help make a difference. We look forward to seeing you there!
