Sewer utility work to impact traffic at Boulevard Road and Cedar Park Loop in Olympia

Posted

The installation of sewer utilties for a South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity housing project is going to impact traffic around Boulevard Road SE and Cedar Park Loop in Olympia next week.

The work is scheduled to start on Monday, May 18, and run through Friday, May 22, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project site is located on the east side of Boulevard Road.

"Vehicles traveling both northbound and southbound on Boulevard Road will be routed onto a temporary road surface located on the Habitat for Humanity parcel. This will allow vehicular traffic to continue moving while also avoiding the construction area," said the City of Olympia Public Works Department in a construction and traffic alert.

"Vehicles will not be able to maneuver between Boulevard (Road) SE and Cedar Park Loop during the construction as the intersection and a small portion of Cedar Park Loop will be closed. Residents needing to access ... Cedar Park Loop will be directed to use the existing/additional connection via Log Cabin Road and the neighborhood to the north."

School bus pick up and drop off on Boulevard Road at the intersection will be accommodated.

"Detours and signage will be in place during the construction hours, and the roadways will (reopen) each night. Please follow all posted signage and use caution when traveling in the area. If possible, use alternate routes to avoid delays,"  said the City of Olympia Public Works Department in the alert.
