A man convicted of sex offenses was arrested earlier this month after an investigation uncovered alleged files of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on his personal electronic devices.
According to a Lacey Police Department report, the arrest occurred on July 9 after law enforcement authorities found probable cause based on evidence gathered at a routine check by a Department of Corrections (DOC) community corrections officer.
The DOC officer discovered the materials during a routine check at the man’s residence in the 3800 block of Cortez Loop SW in May, during which time the suspect, identified as Benjamin E. Hogenson, of Tumwater, was found to possess electronic items that violated the terms of his supervision.
These items included a smartphone, laptop, hard drives and gaming console. The suspect is not allowed to possess electronic devices and have access to the internet after he was convicted of two counts of possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct in July 2021 by Thurston County Superior Court.
Upon reviewing the seized electronic devices, investigators discovered digital content consistent with illegal material involving minors. A forensic analysis revealed several explicit images and website visits linked to child exploitation content.
Investigators confirmed Hogenson had accessed and viewed the materials, some of which appeared to be intentionally concealed by using applications designed to hide files.
Following the issuance of a search warrant and the completion of the forensic review, officers arrested the 25-year-old suspect without incident at a scheduled DOC appointment.
He was booked into Thurston County Corrections Facilty on charges of first-degree possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and viewing of depictions of minors depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

@Claire, "Dirt bags" Come in all walks if life.. some right here in our Community, some even in our Whitehouse. A Key here is the examples our Elected leaders take when espouting their duties and roles in Society. People learn from examples, and when those in positions of Trust go against societial Norms, in their Warped skewed thinking, these types of people lose the types of normal reactions to rational logical thoughts that keep them from doing something destructive to self and/or society. Mass killers, *** offenders, have lost those forms of thinking and abilities like feeling guilt, or Compassion toward others that keep most of us in Line. This is why Trump is destroying American Society. He is As Heartless as Any Criminal or *** Offender. And IS BOTH in His Actions toward these young ladies as well Adults he comes into contact with.
