Signal pole replacement project on tap near Capitol Campus

Posted

A daylong signal pole replacement project will make traversing a busy intersection near the Washington Capitol Campus a little tougher next week.

The signal pole on the southwest corner of Capitol Way and 14th Avenue in Olympia will be swapped out on Wednesday, June 18. The project timeline is from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

American Electrical Construction LLC will do the work, the City of Olympia said in a construction and traffic alert.

Travelers can expect the following:

  • Noise from construction work.
  • Lane closures and sidewalk impacts.
  • Flaggers will direct motorists, pedestrians and cyclists through the work zone.
  • Traffic signal outage. This project will require a shutdown of the traffic signal.

People traveling in and around the area are asked to obey all traffic control and posted speeds while going through work zone. People are also advised to leave early or take an alternate route if possible.
