South Puget Sound Community College is holding its commencement ceremony on June 14, at which time 1,524 students are expected to graduate, the college said in announcing the event.

The ceremony is set to begin at 10 a.m. at The Evergreen State College's Red Square. It will be the community college’s 60th commencement ceremony.

A total of 1,222 associate degrees and 228 certificates will be awarded, as well as 77 General Educational Development (GED) certificates.

There will be processional led by a Clan Gordon bagpiper, and a performance of the alma mater by the community college's Chamber Singers and Percival Choir. The 2025 Outstanding Student awards will also be presented at the ceremony.

Speakers at the ceremony include South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) President Timothy Stokes and student Jackson Feaster.

Feaster will speak about the path students took to graduation.

"My speech will center around the theme of 'From Voice to Vision: The Power of Purpose'. It will reflect on our journey as students, not just through the classrooms and deadlines, but through the personal growth that brought us closer to our purpose,” said Feaster in a statement about the theme of his speech.

He will also call on graduates to speak up and stand together.

“I want to remind my fellow graduates that whether your passion is art, science, advocacy, or anything in between, your voice matters and this graduation is not just an end, but a launch into the real work of changing the world,” Feaster said.

The ceremony will be lives treamed on the SPSCC YouTube channel. Additional information can be found on the SPSCC graduation web page.
