A 31-year-old woman was arrested on Monday, June 23, after Thurston County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered she was in possession of a stolen pickup truck parked outside a local grocery store.
Deputies responded to reports of a suspicious woman at the WinCo Foods on Martin Way East in Olympia around 11 p.m. on June 23. Employees had reported a woman was driving a black Ford Ranger and dumping items in the parking lot.
When deputies arrived, they contacted the suspect, identified in a police report as Nicole Lynn Hess. After checking the vehicle’s identification number, deputies confirmed the truck had been reported stolen out of Seattle.
Hess was arrested. Deputies also found a glass pipe with burnt residue in a pocket of the shorts she was wearing.
After getting approval from the truck’s owner to search his vehicle, additional drug paraphernalia and a prescription pill bottle prescribed to another person were found inside the vehicle.
“While searching the vehicle I retrieved two glass pipes from an ash tray under the dash. The pipes closely resembled the one I found on Nicole’s person,” the responding deputy stated in the report.
The suspect was booked into Thurston County Corrections Facility on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Why do we need to know this? Can we get some real news, please? This recent surge in crime reports on Jolt is unnecessary, as they are everyday happenings already posted on the OPD Blotters that anyone can subscribe to and read. WE ALL ALREADY KNOW THAT CRIME HAPPENS HERE. Broadcasting crime bits is just laziness. Instead, try an analysis on local crime statistics. But ultimately, please report on real news in the community. There are plenty serious issues as well as positive ongoings to report.
