Student sexually assaulted on way to school, Olympia police seek help identifying suspect

Assailant described as white male, aged between 25 and 40 years old, medium build, short hair

A student walking to Capitol High School became the victim of assault on Friday, February 16, according to a police report released by the Olympia Police Department (OPD) in a press release.

The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, recounted that she was listening to music while making her way to school when she was suddenly knocked to the ground and subjected to a sexual assault.

OPD did not disclose if the student is enrolled at CHS or any other school.

She managed to capture a cellphone video of the suspect fleeing the scene with the press release describing the assailant as a white male, aged between 25 and 40 years old, with a medium build and short hair.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black fedora-style jacket, blue jeans, and dark-colored running shoes with a bright orange base.

OPD is seeking assistance from anyone who has information about the assailant and the incident to contact Detective Patrick Hutnik through (360) 753-8300 or via his email.
