Law enforcement agencies from multiple jurisdictions were involved in a vehicle pursuit on Tuesday, May 20, after a suspect in an H3 Hummer attempted to evade police.

According to a Thurston County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) report, the incident began when Chehalis Police Department received reports of a Hummer suspiciously circling a residential neighborhood.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled northbound on Interstate 5.

TCSO and Washington State Patrol soon joined the pursuit. After a while, the driver crossed the median and out of sight from pursuing authorities.

“The driver of the Hummer crossed the median after seeing traffic stopped and fled toward College Street,” TCSO Sheriff Sanders reported.

Thirty minutes later, North Thurston Public Schools reported to the authorities an abandoned Hummer with the engine still running in their parking lot.

A K-9 unit from the TCSO was brought to the scene and tracked a trail onto Martin Way, where it is believed the suspect was picked up by another party.

The Hummer has been impounded, and authorities are asking the public for assistance.

The suspect’s photo was released and is described as a male with a man-bun hairstyle and tattoos on both his arms.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to contact TCSO at 360-704-2740.
