Swearing-in ceremony to be held for recently elected officials on Nov. 25

A swearing-in ceremony is going to take place later this month for elected officials in the Nov. 4 General Election.

The Thurston County Auditor's Office is hosting the ceremony at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Minnaert Center for the Arts. The center is located at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia.

"The ceremony will occur following certification of the 2025 General Election by the Thurston County Canvassing Board," said the auditor's office in an announcement about the ceremony.

State Supreme Court Justice Steven González will address the attendees. 

The elected officials to be sworn in include: 

  • Port commissioners
  • City and town mayors and council members
  • School board directors
  • Fire commissioners
  • Park and recreation commissioners
  • Cemetery commissioners 

A total of 84,612 ballots were cast from in the Nov. 4 General Election. That marked a voter turnout of 39.66 percent.

There were a total of 213,369 registered voters in Thurston County ahead of the election.
