The lighting of the Sylvester Park tree is taking place at Sylvester Park on Sunday, Nov. 30.
The Olympia Downtown Alliance announced the return of the lighting tradition to downtown Olympia in an announcement.
The event will start at 4:30 p.m., with light poles around the park wrapped in white lights, and white roofline lighting and colorful handrail accents illuminating the gazebo. The tree is expected to be adorned with multicolored lights.
The Washington State Department of Enterprise Services is lighting up the park to the alliance’s specifications.
“The return of the Sylvester Park (tree lighting) is more than a celebration — it’s a homecoming. This tradition brings families, friends, and neighbors together in the heart of our city,” said Desiree Freeland, Executive Director of the Olympia Downtown Alliance, in the announcement.
