The Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) is turning to the public for information in the unsolved 2007 homicide of Karen Bodine.
On Jan. 22, 2007, Bodine's nude body was found with bruising, cuts and ligature marks around her neck at the entrance of a gravel pit off Littlerock Road SW.
The 37-year old mother of three had no clothing or belongings with her when she was found.
Just 24 hours earlier, the Lacey Police Department had conducted a welfare check after she was reported walking at night without a jacket in the cold. Bodine assured officers she was fine, but the next day, she was found dead.
Seventeen years later, the person or persons responsible for her death remain unidentified.
