Temporary closure on 15th Avenue SW in Olympia for regrading and repaving

The Department of Enterprise Services (DES) has temporarily closed a section of 15th Avenue SW in Olympia, near the Capitol Campus, for maintenance work.

The closure will extend from Capitol Way all through the intersection of Columbia Street SW and is scheduled to occur from April 1 to May 3.

During this period, crews will undertake maintenance activities, including removing existing asphalt for the regrading and repaving of the affected area.

There will be installation work for the electrical conduit, leading to the removal and repouring of the sidewalk, curb, and gutter along the north side of the avenue.

Due to the nature of the work, 15th Avenue SW will be inaccessible to all traffic from Capitol Way through the intersection of Columbia Street SW.

The sidewalk on the north side of 15th Avenue SW will also be closed for the duration of the maintenance.

The small alley behind homes on the east side of Columbia Street Southwest, connecting with 15th Avenue Southwest, will be closed to vehicle traffic.

The closure dates are subject to weather conditions, and any changes will be communicated ahead.
