The Tenino Police Department is on the lookout for a man who cut fencing to a gated portion of Ace Hardware area outside the Tenino Marketfresh.
At about 5:30 a.m. today, a man described as approximately 25 years old, standing 5-foot 6-inches to 5-foot 7-inches with a thin build and wearing a black hoodie and carrying bolt cutters.
After the man cut through the fencing, he was confronted by a store employee and fled the area in a vehicle.
The witness was able to get the vehicle’s license plate, which returned to a 2005 Volkswagen four-door out of California. However, the witness thought the vehicle was an older Honda, so police believe it may be a stolen vehicle with a switched license plate.
The vehicle is described as a dark-colored four-door car with a broken driver’s side window covered in a plastic shopping bag.
Police ask that if you’ve seen the vehicle, call the Tenino Police Department or the non-emergency number for Thurston County Dispatch at 360-704-2740. Police also ask that if the suspect is seen, that no citizen confront the suspect.
