’Thelma and Louise’ allegedly steal $14,000 worth of designer sunglasses

Two female suspects were arrested after allegedly stealing $14,229 worth of designer sunglasses from a local retailer last Monday, Olympia Police Department (OPD) reported in a social media post.

The two attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle on Interstate 5.

“Officers stopped the vehicle and positively identified both suspects from the retailer's security videos,” OPD stated.

Following their arrest, a search warrant was obtained for the suspects' vehicle.

During the search, officers discovered 40 pairs of stolen sunglasses and suspected stolen cosmetics and a stolen firearm.

Both suspects have been booked on charges of theft in the 1st degree.
