Six in-person meetings will be held beginning August 8, 2022.

Experience Olympia & Beyond, in partnership with consultant company Otak, Inc., is developing a Corridor Management Plan for the Thurston Bountiful Byway and is asking for the public’s input. Several workshop sessions will provide opportunities for the community to learn about the plan and share their thoughts about key byway destinations, experiences, and desired improvements. An online mapping tool will also be introduced where community members can submit their comments virtually.

Six in-person meetings will be held beginning August 8, 2022, each with identical presentations and feedback sessions to accommodate a variety of schedules and locations.

The Corridor Management Plan will include:

  • Key tourism assets throughout the county and characteristics of these assets.
  • Description of existing experiences, places, facilities, and services for visitors.
  • Strategies, ideas, and opportunities to improve infrastructure and promote tourism and visitation throughout the byway.
  • Wayfinding and signing concepts to reinforce the Thurston Bountiful Byway brand and identity.
  • Recommendations for funding and implementation of the plan.
