The Thurston County Auditor’s Office won five awards for its public service programs from the National Association of Counties.
The achievement awards are given to “innovative, effective county programs that make a difference for residents," said Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall in an announcement about the awards.
The awards were given for the Elections Security Enhancement, Saturday Passport Fairs, Voting Access at Your Library, Public Transit Partnership for Voter Access, and Your Neighbors, Your Elections programs.
Each of the programs provided Thurston County with various improvements, including updates to a new Voting and Ballot Processing Center, increased passport services, voter registration assistance, utilizing public transportation for voting, and video campaigns about election workers.
“We work every year to improve how we serve our community,” Hall said. “We innovate because it helps us do better. These awards reflect the spirit of our office, always looking for better ways to work.”
