Thurston County Elections Offering Observer Training ahead of February Special Election

Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division is offering observer training for the February 8, 2022 Special Election. The training will be held over Zoom on January 20, 2022 at 5:30 p.m.  

Ballot processing is monitored on site by trained observers appointed by the Republican and Democratic parties and independent observers.

Observers can ask questions of full-time elections staff as long as it doesn’t inhibit ballot processing.

Observer training covers election procedure and observer policy. Training is mandatory for observers appointed by their political party. However, the training is also open to the public.
