Training sessions to prepare residents for emergencies in Thurston County

Thurston County Emergency Management and the Thurston County Disaster Assistance Response Team (TCDART) are offering Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training from Saturday, April 5, to Monday, April 7, to prepare residents for emergencies. 

The training will cover disaster response skills, including fire safety, medical operations and search and rescue. 

Participants will also engage in a disaster simulation on the program's final day. 

The training schedule is as follows: 

  • March 24: Orientation and pretest 
  • April 5: Course day 1 
  • April 6: Course day 2 
  • April 7: Disaster simulation and certificate distribution 

All sessions will be held at Thurston County Emergency Management, 9521 Tilley Road SW, Olympia, WA 98512. Attendance at all sessions is required.
