A Thurston County Jail inmate was revived after being found unconscious on Monday night, March 17.
"Last night, correction deputies at the jail responded to an unconscious inmate suspected of suffering from a narcotic overdose," the Thurston County Sheriff's Office said in a social media post on Tuesday, March 18.
"Recognizing the potential dangers of fentanyl, deputies quickly administered three doses of Narcan and began CPR. Their swift actions helped stabilize the individual, who was transported to the hospital for further medical care."
After a return to the jail, the inmate was found to be in possession of a substance authorities believed to be fentanyl. The inmate, whose name was not released, was later booked on addtional narcotics-related charges.
"This incident serves as a stark reminder of the deadly risks associated with fentanyl and the vigilance required to keep our facilities safe," the sheriff's office said.

Good job to the correction deputies.
The deputies treated the inmate with respect by not doing a strip search, and the inmate responds by overdosing again? Please. This is someone on the left side of the bell curve. When an inmate smuggles in the drug that almost killed them earlier, maybe this time it should be allowed to happen.

Wow second supposed it was you son, daughter, wife etc. Pretty cavalier approach to human life, but I do agree with well done to corrections officers in prompt action to safe a live.
