Thurston County, Lacey, Olympia and Tumwater to host joint Lodging Tax Funding Workshop

The cities of Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater, along with Thurston County, are set to host a Lodging Tax Funding Workshop for potential applicants on Wednesday, June 5, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Lacey City Hall Council Chambers, located at 420 College St SE.

The Lodging Tax Advisory Committees (LTAC) from each jurisdiction will review applications and make recommendations on how to allocate lodging tax funds annually.

Workshop attendees will gain valuable insights into the lodging tax funding process, including uses of the funds, eligibility criteria for organizations, application procedures, award processes, and required documentation for recipients.

Representatives from each jurisdiction will be available to answer questions about their specific application processes and requirements.

Lodging tax revenues, generated through an excise tax of up to 4% as authorized by RCW 67.28, are important in promoting tourism through events, facilities, and marketing efforts in the community.
