The Thurston County Master Recycler Composter (MRC) Volunteer Training program is now open for applications.
This initiative, run by the Washington State University (WSU) Thurston County Extension and Thurston County Public Works, aims to educate and train volunteers in recycling, waste reduction, and composting.
The program offers a comprehensive curriculum, with classes led by regional experts, WSU Extension staff, and Thurston County professionals.
Training sessions will be held in person on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., starting September 19 and ending November 14.
Additional Saturday sessions are scheduled for September 21, October 5, and November 2.
Qualifications for the applicants include being 18 years old or older and living, working, or running a business in Thurston County.
The application deadline is Sunday, September 1, at 5:00 p.m.
