For transparency and validation of the integrity of the electoral process, the Thurston County Auditor’s Elections Division has announced plans to conduct a random audit of the March 12 Presidential Primary Election.

Ballots are due by 8 p.m. tomorrow, March 12.  "You may register to vote or update your current registration person only up to 8 p.m. on Election Day at any county Auditor's Office, voting center or any other designated location," Thurston County Auditor’s office  details on the website

This audit, scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at 9 a.m., will occur at the Ballot Processing Center at 2905 29th Avenue SW, Suite E, Tumwater, WA 98512.

The primary purpose of this audit is to showcase the accuracy of the tabulation equipment utilized during the election.

To ensure accountability and impartiality, observers appointed by the county Democratic and Republican parties will be present during the audit.

These observers will witness the process firsthand, ask questions, and gain insights into the election procedures.

Citizens interested in becoming official observers are encouraged to contact their local party representatives.

For those unable to attend in person, a live stream at the Ballot Processing Center will be available on the Thurston County Auditor's website.

The Thurston County Auditor’s office will accommodate disabled citizens participating in the Presidential Primary.

Individuals requiring accommodation may contact Tillie Naputi-Pullar at 360-786-5408 or use the Washington Relay Service at 711 for the deaf and hard of hearing.
