Thurston County weighs in on state races

With 61.44 percent of the vote counted, Thurston County voters largely voted for a third term with Gov. Jay Inslee, who currently sits at 59.93 percent of the vote over republican challenger Loren Culp.

As of 8 p.m. Election Day, here’s a roundup of how Thurston County voters decided other contested state races:

Senator, Legislative District 2: Republican Jim McCune leads Democratic Rick Payne 55.44 to 44.39 percent.

Representative, Position 2, District 2: Republican J.T. Wilcox leads Democrat Veronica Whitcher Rockett 59.01 to 40.76 percent.

Representative, Position 1, District 20: Republican Peter Abbarno leads Democratic Timothy Zahn 64.31 to 35.6 percent.

Representative, Position 2, District 20: Republican Ed Orcutt leads Democrat Will Rollet 67.15 to 32.76 percent.

Senator, District 22: Democrat Sam Hunt leads Republican Gary Holland 70.52 to 29.38 percent.

Representative, Position 1, District 22: Democrat Laurie Dolan leads Republican J.D. Ingram 69.88 to 30.02 percent.

Representative, Position 2, District 22: Democrat Jessica Bateman leads Republican Dusty Pierpoint 63.27 to 36.64 percent.

Representative, Position 1, District 35: Republican Dan Griffey leads Democrat Colton Myers 52.11 to 47.81 percent.
