Thurston EDC opens nomination period for business awards

The Thurston Economic Development Council (EDC) is seeking nominations for the 2026 Thurston EDC Business Awards, which recognize impactful businesses and organizations in Thurston County.

Award categories include New Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Large Corporate Employer of the Year and Nonprofit Organization of the Year. 

A summer-style, open-air awards ceremony will be held on June 24, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Hangar 51 Event Center at Olympia Regional Airport. 

“This year, we’re keeping things light — light on program, rich in connection. Expect a new kind of gathering — one that feels more like a celebration with friends,” said the EDC in a news release. 

The community may nominate a business or organization, or attend the ceremony by purchasing tickets online. 

“We will be creating a space that reflects the spirit of the businesses we’re celebrating — welcoming, thoughtful, and full of life. Come ready to connect, laugh, and raise a glass to the businesses that make this community special!” the EDC said.
