Utility installation work and a street paving project are going to make it a little tougher for motorists to navigate certain areas of Olympia.
The utility installation work, which is part of the Chick-fil-A project, will cause traffic delays near Cooper Point Road and Capital Mall Drive.
The installation work, slated to start on Monday, Aug. 18, is expected to run through Labor Day.
"Work along Cooper Point (Road) will be a combination of day and night work," said the City of Olympia in a construction and traffic alert.
The schedule and locations impacted are as follows:
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes or add extra travel time if driving through the project area.
Meanwhile, the north end of Adams Street between Union Avenue and 11th Avenue will be closed to thru traffic on Wednesday, Aug. 20, and Thursday Aug. 28 through Friday, Aug. 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day for street paving work.
The street paving work is connected to the 401 Union Ave. project — a four-story, 70-unit multifamily development project in Olympia.

Speaking of re-paving when are they ever going re-pave downtown Olympia? It’s as uneven as a logging road…c’mon, man!

It's going to be ugly at Cooper Point and Capitol Mall drive during this construction. All for a crappy fast food place.
