Traffic light installation on Capitol Blvd in Tumwater this Thursday

Expect an interruption in traffic in the afternoon

Posted

Traffic will be closed off on all sides of Tumwater’s 4200 block of Capitol Boulevard on Thursday, September 14, from 1 p.m.  The location is in front of the Tumwater Crafts District buildings.

According to the city’s press release, crews will be deployed to activate a new traffic signal.

“The process requires placing a boom truck under the new signal while crews remove the cover. Traffic will resume in all directions after the signal has been turned on and observed by City staff, Tumwater explained. “The delay is expected to take less than 15 minutes.”

Traffic control will be on-site to assist drivers through the work zone, the city reassured.

“Please drive slowly through the work zone and comply with instructions from flaggers,” cautioned Tumwater. “Plan ahead to avoid the intersection or take alternate routes if possible."

Call (360) 252-5408 or email the Tumwater’s Communications Department for questions or concerns.
