Trosper Road I-5 exit 102 closed until April

Posted

Tumwater is warning commuters passing the I-5 that the northbound on-ramp at Exit 102 from westbound Trosper Road SW will be closed today until April 1. The closure is for the construction of the northern half of the Trosper Roundabout.

“During the closure, a signed detour will direct drivers to access northbound I-5 via Tumwater Boulevard,” the city explained in a press release. “Lanes will be shifted to maintain two-way traffic on Trosper Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the south side of Trosper.”

This project is part of the Capitol Boulevard Corridor Project, intended to address traffic delays, pedestrian safety, and mobility deficiencies along Trosper Road SW from the I-5 overpass to Capitol Boulevard SW and the I-5 Northbound on- and off-ramps. Construction is anticipated through August 2024.

I wonder how long it'll be closed in a few years when this foresighted and lame idea must be removed.

OK, Tony, I'll bite. Please share your knowledge of the project, your credentials for evaluating it, and why you know it to be "lame" and that it will be "closed in a few years."
