The Tumwater Parks & Recreation Department is holding the 28th annual Egg Dash and “Where’s the Peep?” virtual contest next week.
The Egg Dash will be held at the Tumwater High School stadium on Saturday, April 19, while the virtual contest runs from Monday, April 14, to Friday, April 18.
“Over 20,000 colorful eggs filled with candy, toys, and prize coupons will be nestled in THS stadium’s large grassy area, waiting to be discovered,” the event’s website stated.
Participating kids must be ages 11 and under, and should bring a basket or bag to carry home all their goodies.
There are also sponsor booths with fun activities, such as the Travelin’ Tom’s coffee truck.
The Easter Bunny will also be available to take photos with attendees.
The dash has a schedule per age bracket — 11 a.m. for ages 4 and under, 11:20 a.m. for ages 5–7, and 11:40 a.m. for ages 8–11.
“Mark your calendar for Saturday, April 19. A hoppin’ good time is sure to be had by all!,” the event’s ebsite stated.
The "Where's the Peep?" contest on Facebook lets participants use picture "clues" to guess the location of the "peep" hidden throughout the city.
Follow the city's Facebook page to spot the peep in iconic locations around Tumwater for a chance to win prizes from event sponsors.
Interested volunteers may visit the city’s website. Any questions may be directed to city staff via tumwaterparks@ci.tumwater.wa.us or 360-754-4160.
