Tumwater Independence Day schedule for fireworks, festival, and road closures

Tumwater is informing the public, including motorists, of the road closures taking place on Tuesday as part of the city’s Independence Day celebrations.

Linderson Way SW will be closed from Israel Road to West Lee Street/Capitol Boulevard starting at 8:30 a.m. to serve as the parade’s staging area. Traffic will be restricted to emergency access only.

The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. and will have Capitol Boulevard closed from West Lee Street to Israel Road. Israel Road will be closed from Capitol Boulevard to Linderson Way.

Drivers are asked to use alternate routes during these times. All streets will reopen to traffic at 1 p.m.

Tumwater Valley Drive will also be closed from 4 p.m. until midnight for the Tumwater Artesian Family Festival and Thunder Valley Fireworks Show.

Attendees may use E Street SE to access the event’s parking lot, which opens at 5:30 p.m.
