Tumwater is inviting the community to a Career Discovery event on firefighting.

Scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, at 7 p.m., the event will take place at the Fire Station Headquarters at 311 Israel Road SW, Tumwater, WA 98501.

Geared towards both men and women interested in exploring fire and emergency medical services careers, the Career Discovery is tailored for individuals who haven't previously tested or applied for a fire service position.

Prior EMT or firefighting experience is not a prerequisite for participation, but to attend the activity, attendees should be 21 years old and above.

The firefighting profession demands diverse skills and abilities beyond physical fitness and strength.

Beyond emergency responses, Tumwater's firefighters actively engage with and support the community in various ways.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear firsthand from the city's firefighters about the realities of the profession – from the day-to-day experiences to the reasons behind their career choices.

The activity is scheduled for one hour, with an optional fire station tour available at 6:30 p.m.

Interested individuals can register via this link to secure a spot at the Career Discovery activity.
