Tumwater Parks & Recreation is presenting the first Elevate Fair on Saturday, May 31, 2025, to “highlight sustainability and cultural exchange in the arts.”

A news release from the department stated the fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ASHHO Cultural Community Center in Tumwater.

The Elevate Fair, which is part of the expanding Tumwater Arts Program, aims to provide an avenue for vendors to offer various items focused on sustainability and cultural diversity.

There will also be community booths hosting activities on ecology and cultural exchange in the arts.

Collaborative art

The fair will feature collaborative artist Carrie Ziegler, who will engage attendees in a new collaborative art project.

The interactive art experience is centered on the theme "We Are All in This Together," with an aim to demonstrate that each person’s unique contributions are essential to the magic created as a collective.

“This expansive installation invites community members to integrate their unique strengths into a collective artwork that celebrates our interconnectedness. Participants will contribute elements that represent their personal talents and passions, whether than may be through words, objects, or artistic expressions,” the news release states.

As the individual pieces come together after creation, it is set to honor the diverse abilities that contribute to the community's strength.

Music

The Elevate Fair will also showcase music from The Bridge Music Project.

The Bridge Music Project is a Thurston County-based nonprofit advocating for youths to develop resilience through music, mentorship and community.

“Many of the youth The Bridge serves have faced difficult circumstances, including foster care, homelessness, and incarceration,” the news release states.

The nonprofit hosts songwriting workshops at community music venues, schools and youth prisons across Washington.

Vendors and community booths

Attendees should be on the lookout for different vendors on the day of the event: Erin Jones, Inc., Flipped Pot Ceramics Studio, Formline Evolved, Kindness Project, Lost & Found Crafts, Second Made, and Via Merulana Jewelry.
