Two accused of stealing from Tumwater mailboxes

Two men accused of stealing mail were arrested by Tumwater Police on Monday.

Kyle Wolff, 25, and Kevin Thwaits, 30, were confronted by a neighbor on May 3 after alleging watching them take mail out of two neighborhood mailboxes in the 1200 block of Irving St SW.

The neighbor who reported the theft to a 911 dispatcher confronted the men and asked them to return the mail, which they did. 

Tumwater Police caught up with them shortly. Both told police that they had just been released from Thurston County Jail and told officers that they didn’t know why they took the mail, apologizing for doing so.

The homeowner reportedly caught both Wolff and Thwaits on video with mail in their hands.

Both were charged with theft and booked into Nisqually Jail.
