An Olympia man was charged after he allegedly threatened to kill several people at a bar and later assaulted multiple police officers.

In a document dated Dec. 22, the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney indicated that Kayne Vincent Pedrini, 38, was charged with felony harassment and third-degree assault.

According to reports from several Olympia police officers, Pedrini was arrested on Dec. 19 after a disorderly subject was reported at a bar on the 100 block of Capitol Way.

One bartender told police that Pedrini entered the establishment, left after having one drink, and returned 15 minutes later to ask to have his phone charged.

The bartender said she agreed to charge Pedrini’s phone but shortly forgot about it because she was busy attending to other customers, adding that she “never saw a phone.”

The bartender also said Pedrini had been “cut off” from ordering drinks because he had become highly intoxicated, at which point the suspect became aggressive and started threatening to kill people, as well as accusing the bartender of stealing his phone.

Another bartender told police that he asked Pedrini to leave, but the suspect refused and told a patron something to the effect of, “I am going to come back here with a gun and kill everyone,” and also warned that he would “knock out” the bartender.

The doorman also said he asked Pedrini to leave after hearing him make threats to kill, to which the suspect replied, “Do you wanna get punched?”

Pedrini’s aggressive behavior and threats to kill were corroborated to police by multiple people inside the bar.

Later, the suspect repeatedly threatened to kill a responding police officer, making statements such as, “If I saw you not wearing your suit, I would kill you.”

The officer then informed Pedrini that he was under arrest for felony harassment with threats to kill.

At this point, the officer said, the suspect attempted to punch him and other law enforcement who were at the scene.

A physical altercation ensued, causing one officer to hit her head on a nearby vehicle and another officer to sustain minor abrasions.

An officer tasered Pedrini after refusing to comply even after he was warned that a taser would be used on him.

The suspect was booked at the Thurston County Jail for felony harassment with threats to kill and third-degree assault.

Officers noted that Pedrini’s neighbor previously called the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office concerned about the suspect’s increasingly “unhinged” behavior.
