Two male juveniles are now suspects in an alleged shooting incident involving two victims, one of whom is also a juvenile.
According to a Yelm Police Department (YPD) police report, the incident happened on Feb. 6 after 8 p.m. in the 600 block of Yelm Avenue West.
Authorities responded to the scene and found a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of the 76 gas station.
While rendering aid to the victim, officers received information about a second possible victim in the 200 block of Cullens Street NW.
Upon arriving, officers located a vehicle at the Sea Mar Medical parking lot, where they found a juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound.
Both victims were treated at each scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
The suspects initially fled the scene, but detectives later identified two juvenile suspects.
“One juvenile turned himself in at a juvenile detention center in Tacoma and was turned over to Yelm Police, and one is currently outstanding,” the Yelm Police Department said.
As the investigation is ongoing and involves minors, no names have been released.
YPD detectives are actively working on the case and will provide updates as they become available.
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact authorities to assist in the arrest of the other suspect.
