Two people arrested for alleged dognapping in Olympia

Posted

Two individuals were arrested after allegedly stealing a dog in a parking lot in Olympia on March 12.

According to an Olympia Police Department (OPD) social media post, officers responded to a report of a stolen dog in a parking lot in the 1900 block of 4th Avenue East.

The investigation determined that the suspects are known to the dog’s owner.

“When the victim tried to retrieve it, they were dragged by a vehicle and reportedly run over,” OPD reported.

Police swiftly located the suspect vehicle and arrested the two suspects.

The suspects, identified as Avion Javier Reilly and Katherine Ann Applegate, were arrested shortly in the early hours of March 13.

The two suspects were both charged with first-degree robbery.

Fortunately, the stolen dog was recovered unharmed and safely reunited with its owner.

THANK you for naming the '''suspects". They need to be charged with something more than just first degree robbery. Isn't dragging and then running over the victim attempted murder??? They tried to kill the owner. That's homicide, in my opinion.

Hi, I am Avion Reilly and this article isnt telling the truth. The "victim also forgot to mention that he had verbally and aggressively assaulted us because his friend who had helped him in the store, had told us somethings and that after he was confronted by Katherine, he got verbally aggressive and was berating us, and after a few minutes of arguing with us in the car, and i btw am the passenger of this whole ordeal, but prior to this he had given her the dog and if they look at the CTC footage they can see that she had the dog and he was okay with it. He then want's to say that he we kidnapped his dog but we didn't let alone he had no problem with her having the dog, but leading up to the vents the transpired, he literally tried to drag me out of the car after he had reached for Katherine and tried to grab her arm, and she threw a drink at him in self defense and he grabbed my chest, and the ly legs and proceeded to drag me out the car, i defended my self and Katherine started to drive, and he was literally still holding onto my legs and then he dropped to the ground, with his face hitting the concrete. He was not ran over and he literally is lying. I would like to speak to anyone in charge of this article cause this is false information and if anything he isnt the victim, he was hurt by his own actions and literally could have been avoided but he literally tried to pull me out of a moving vehicle.
