Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre to reveal design and next steps for planned Theatre on September 10th

Join Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre on the site of their future home for a party and fundraiser on September 10th from 2 pm-5 pm. There will be music, entertainment, and lots of fun activities! They will be revealing their conceptual plans at 3:00 pm and the silent auction and raffle will close at 4:30. Bring the family and celebrate with them!

Tenino, WA – The Tenino Young-At-Heart Theatre and volunteers are planning a celebration for the whole community to unveil the conceptual designs for the theater on September 10th from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Theatre’s property in Tenino on Sussex Ave between Keithahn and Ritter streets. There will be music, theater games for folks of all ages, face painting, songs and short play readings. At 3 PM, there will be short welcome and presentation of the conceptual designs with time to look closely at them and visit with the TYT board members. A silent auction and raffle for a variety of prizes are among several opportunities to give financial support to the efforts of building this community theater.

For 33 years Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre (TYT) has gathered the community together to celebrate the arts through the joy of theater. From their initial children’s theatrical productions to major Broadway-style musicals during the summers, TYT continues to grow with new projects including reader’s theaters called “TYT Reads,” Murder Mystery dinner theatres, and performances at local community markets with Tenino Arts and Boo-Coda Spook-Tacular.

Thanks to the donation of a generous supporter in 2021, TYT was able to purchase land in the Tenino Creative District for the purpose of building a permanent home. TYT has been working behind the scenes with help of Trent Hart of TovaniHart Architects to develop a concept for a building that creates a space for the fine and performing arts as well as community spaces for other gatherings. It is TYT’s dream to create a facility that will become a cornerstone for events in the region.
